CTSS Black Box Sessions Open Mic

🎤 CTSS Inaugural Black Box Session

Saturday, September 26 | 6:00–8:00 PM

We are thrilled to launch CTSS Black Box Sessions, a new monthly open mic series that gives performers a warm and supportive place to share music, try new material, and gain performance experience.

Whether a student is preparing for an audition, workshopping a new song, or simply looking for more opportunities to perform, all styles, genres, and experience levels are welcome. Rehearsed duets, trios, and ensemble numbers are also encouraged.

Since the end of summer camp, our Paoli performance space has been renovated and upgraded into a formal black box theatre. To celebrate, our first session will also serve as a theatre dedication and open house.

Our first Black Box Session will take place on Saturday, September 26, from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Participation is free for recurring CTSS voice students, and each session has 18 performance spots available. Students who do not currently take recurring voice lessons at CTSS may perform for a $25 event fee. Admission is free for all family members and friends.

Fall Black Box Sessions:

  • September 26, 2026 - Inaugural Black Box Performance

  • October 17, 2026 - Halloween Theme

  • December 5, 2026 - Holiday Theme

A minimum of seven performers is required for each session to run.

Performance Information

  • Free for recurring CTSS voice students

  • $25 per performer for non-CTSS students

  • Free admission for audience members, friends, and family

  • Limited to 18 performance slots

  • Concessions available for purchase

Accompaniment

  • Performers may provide a performance track or accompanist

  • Self-accompanied performances are welcome

  • All tracks must be submitted with the registration form

  • Nick can accompany with prior arrangements

Recording & Accessibility

  • Each session will be professionally recorded, and recordings will be shared with performers

  • Events may also be live streamed

  • Please note that our venue is located on the second floor and is not wheelchair accessible

If you're familiar with CPFA's Friday Night Café, Black Box Sessions will have a similar atmosphere- casual, supportive, and performance-focused. We would love to fill every performance slot for our inaugural event and begin building a monthly tradition for our community.
