Voice Lessons at Community Through Song and Stage

Why Take Voice?

Voice lessons at Community Through Song and Stage are about so much more than just “singing better.” They help students build real technique, confidence, and artistry- skills that carry into auditions, performances, school, and everyday life.

In lessons, students learn how to sing with healthy vocal technique, improve breath support, strengthen range and tone, and develop the ability to sing consistently across different styles. Just as importantly, they grow as performers: learning how to communicate a story, connect emotionally, and sing with authenticity.

Whether your child is preparing for musical theatre, choir, competitions, or simply wants a creative outlet, our voice lessons provide a supportive, encouraging space to grow—one note at a time.

    GUITAR TEACHER

    𝗘ducation
𝗕.𝗠. in Jazz Composition & Arranging – Berklee College of Music
𝗠.𝗠. in Media Writing & Production – Frost School of Music, University of Miami

    About Sean Townsend
Mr. Sean Townsend’s musical journey began at age 16, when he stumbled upon his grandmother’s old guitar and a beginner’s instruction book in the attic. That spark quickly grew into a passion, and by 19 he was studying with world-renowned guitarist John Dougherty, who encouraged him to pursue music at the collegiate level.

He went on to earn a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music and a Master of Music from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. Following his studies, Mr. Townsend launched Town Sounds Music and Audio Productions, a company specializing in commercial music creation. His work spanned film scores, video game soundtracks, jingles, and songwriting, with an impressive client list including Microsoft, McDonald’s, IBM, Tonka, and Electronic Arts.

With over 30 years of teaching experience in both Florida and the Philadelphia region, Mr. Townsend has inspired generations of students. Recently retired from the Center for Performing and Fine Arts, his influence lives on through his former students—many of whom are now performing with top recording artists, playing in Broadway pits, recording in professional studios, and teaching the next generation of musicians.
