For ages 8+
The 20/20/20 piano teaching model is a structured approach to a 60-minute piano lesson, dividing the time into three focused segments:
First 20 minutes – Repertoire Focus
Work on pieces a piece with the teacher 1-1 out of method book
Focus on musicality, technique, phrasing, and interpretation.
Second 20 minutes – Theory
Self Paced Music Theory and literacy keyboard activities
Emphasize building technical skills and understanding musical structure.
Final 20 minutes – Chords and Sight Reading
Self-Paced chord and lead sheet exercises
Helps round out musicianship and keep lessons engaging and holistic.
This model supports balanced musical development and keeps lessons varied and engaging for students.
This is wonderful option for students who might not be able to commit to the discipline a private piano lesson requires or for those who are more casual learners. Highly recommend for High School students who plan to major in Music or Musical Theater in college.

We are committed to providing outstanding instruction and mentorship. We try our best to partner and work with students and parents to find ways to offer flexibility to help you manage your busy schedules. However, we must be careful not to sacrifice the quality of instruction as we work to be flexible. Finally, CTSS has an obligation to provide a work environment to our staff where lesson income is reliable and predictable. This policy is designed to be fair and balanced for both instructors and students.
-
While nothing replaces true in-person instruction, CTSS is set up to provide quality virtual instruction.
All school policies and lesson rates will apply to virtual lessons.
Virtual lesson are great for families who travel extensively but still want their child to keep up with regular instruction.
A virtual lesson may also be used for a make-up lesson or if a student is unable to physically get to the school.
-
CTSS may use substitute instructors to cover for teachers who must miss a lesson. If a substitute teacher cannot be arranged, monthly fees will be adjusted (reduced) to reflect the missed lesson.
